Countable and Uncountable nouns with examples

Countable nouns:-

Things that we can count using numbers. So, if anything you can count, it comes in the category of countable nouns. Countable nouns can be singular and plural forms.

For Example:- 

  • A dog.
  • A man.
  • Three bags.
let’s look this countable nouns in form of sentences:-
  • Ram has eight pencils
  • Riya buys two ice creams.

From  the above sentences we get a clear knowledge about countable nouns.

Countable nouns are basically divided into two more tables,

  1. singular forms.
  2. plural forms.

So what are singular forms?

If there is one and only one person Place or thing involved then we can call them as singular forms. 

A An and The are used while using them.

  • A Bus
  • An Orange
  • The Sun.

  • The bird flew away.

The bird means we are talking about only a single word.

  • A dog is man’s best friend.

A dog means we are talking of only a dog,

An egg means we are talking of only an egg.

What are plural forms?

If there is more than one person place thing involved, then we can call them as plural. Forms. 

Singular nouns are changed to plural nouns by adding s, es and ies at the end.
